If you use SEO tools you will usually get a 2% keyword recommendation. Is this the ideal keyword density value?
Not really....
Keyword density is a topic, because Google often ignores the optimization of your website because keywords targeted on a website page are too weak.
Google does say that if a word has been repeated more than 3x on a website page, then the word can be classified as a keyword. But 3 times the repetition will be like a needle stacked with hay if the page has more than 1000 words.
So indeed the word will be considered a keyword, but the keywords are very weak. If there are keywords with better density on the page, then those keywords will take precedence.
So how many words of keyword density is ideal for your website's SEO optimization?
As I said above; there is no definite keyword density. But usually ranking 1 websites have a range from 1.5% to 5%. So you can think of this as a range that is considered quite significant and quite safe.
How to calculate the percentage of this keyword density ...?
The keyword density on a page includes how much a word is repeated on the page compared to the total number of words on the page. The whole word includes words in the header, main column, sidebar, and footer ....
For example: If the combined number of words from the header, main, sidebar and footer is 2000 words. Then that means that the keyword density included is quite significant and is quite safe in the range of 30 to 100 x keyword appearances.
This appearance includes those in system headings, system internal links, system external links, captions, alt tags, and of course the main content of the page itself.
Can the key density be more than 5%?
Of course you can. Even sometimes ranking 1 can have a keyword density of up to 15%. But in general this keyword density appears in the form of many anchor text links on the page.
So don't be too afraid to cross this line if you really need to. But I don't recommend you be below this density, because from my experience it's very difficult to optimize pages that are too low in density (below 1.5%)
